Dr. Michael Lutz is a partner at the Michigan Institute of Urology with a primary focus on male health. Since 1986, his primary subspecialty of Urology has been the application of screening, early detection, and treatment of Prostate Cancer. He developed the first Us Too Prostate Cancer support group for patients and survivors and served as the co-chair of the Prostate Cancer Task Force for the American Cancer Society in the Great Lakes Region of the United States. He serves on the council of the Prostate Conditions Education Council and has presented on several occasions at the National Men’s Health Braintrust in Washington, D.C.
In 2008, Dr. Lutz co-founded the MIU Men’s Health Foundation dedicated to men’s health advocacy and the awareness, education, research, and treatment of Prostate Cancer and men’s health related issues. The foundation's Prostate Cancer focus is on patients and their families relating to and enhancing the role of survivorship. Their free Men’s Health Events, now held annually at Ford Field, have had as many as 6,000 attendees experiencing the benefits of healthcare, screening opportunities, and healthy lifestyle educational sessions. The data gathered from these events will be used in conjunction with their collaborative partners to enhance male health worldwide.
