John Oliffe, Ph.D.

Dr. John Oliffe is a Professor at the School of Nursing, University of British Columbia and founder and lead investigator of UBC’s Men’s Health Research [MHR] program. His research is focused on gender and men’s health addressing how masculinities influence men’s health behaviors and illness management, and its impact on partners, families and overall quality of life. His research studies address diverse topics including prostate cancer, depression, suicide and smoking cessation. Dr. Oliffe’s research provides key insights to guide clinicians and researchers around men’s health promotion programs, and his findings are featured in over 200 academic conferences and workshops, and 115 peer-reviewed publications.
